On Wednesday, January 17th, The North Face hosted an event to celebrate both our new store location on Pearl St. and the Boulder outdoor community from 630pm-10pm. The Theme for the evening was one of storytelling through an open mic night called “Scar Stories”, The event was hosted by local homegrown Boulder celebrity Ryan Van Duzer. 

My role as the Project Manager was to work locally with both the retail store team and the local agency hired to ensure we had top of the line experience lined up for the evening, which included top of the line Audio and video setup as well as doing outreach to the local community partners to join in on the evening as a partner. I also managed all the athletes involved and ensured all run of show details and travel were in place to make sure the event ran smoothly and everyone fully understood what their role in the event was for the evening.

The evening started and guests gathered and mingled around great food and drink, some guests took testimonial pictures in the photo booth to share both a picture of their scar and their stories on our walls for all others to read. Our athlete team’s role was to mingle with the crowd and to share their own scar stories if they wished to share. 8 athletes led by example and shared some stories of their own on our mini stage in the front of the store after being introduced by our host Ryan.

The remaining athletes acted as judges and reviewed all the customer photos shared on the wall and eventually chose 4 winners who received TNF gear and bragging rights in town by getting the opportunity to take the stage to tell their story firsthand to the crowd.

This event was a huge success and the talk of Pearl St. for a few days after as people stopped by the store asking when the next big store event would be. 

Overall, We saw over 350 people attend the event that evening and accomplished our goal of authentically bringing the community together and introducing our brand to the town of Boulder.

As part of the grand opening weekend for the Prototype Store in Williamsburg Brooklyn we produced an all day event announcing our presence on the N. 6th st.

We set up Inside the fenced in outside space adjacent to the store for a free block party event Saturday for our new Williamsburg neighbors featuring food and drink from surrounding neighborhood partners.

This event was a huge success for the brand as we saw around 1000 people attend the party during the day and evening and I’m store traffic and sales blew away pre set goals for the grand opening weekend.
